Pittsburgh Tigers Baseball
Welcome to the Pittsburgh Tigers Baseball Program in partnership with the Greater Baldwin Whitehall Athletic Association-GBWAA
The Pittsburgh Tigers are in our 9th year of providing young men the opportunity to travel and play baseball at a higher level of competition than is offered in local recreational programs. Our program allows for teams ranging in ages from 11 to 14. The Pittsburgh Tigers teams are for the true baseball player that is looking be a student of the game and wants to gain exposure to play at the college or professional level. We take travel baseball to the next level by competing against some of the best teams in the surrounding states.
The Pittsburgh Tiger Program is committed to providing quality training and competition and the Local, Regional and National Levels. Our competitive baseball experience can enhance exposure, social development, contribute to mental and physical health and teach the values of teamwork, responsibility, accountability, self-discipline and motivation. Members and their families have the opportunity to develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
As an organization, we sincerely hope that by teaching baseball fundamentals mixed with real life experiences, will provide a solid foundation and mentoring that will enable our baseball players to be successful not only in baseball but, in their academic career, professional career and life once the game of baseball has ended for them.
The Pittsburgh Tigers Baseball Club is made up of dedicated baseball players from the Baldwin-Whitehall area in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Tigers play in a variety of highly competitive leagues as well as Tournaments throughout the Eastern & Mid Western US. |
A New Look For Baseball In The Baldwin Whitehall Area Wednesday, March 26 @ 16:03:23 CDT by gdtpgh (190 reads) | A New Look For Baseball In The Baldwin Whitehall Area
The GBWAA and the Pittsburgh Tigers are proud to announce a new partnership for the 2008 season. The Tigers will be representing the Baldwin Whitehall area at the 13 and 14 yr Pony levels in the highly competitive Western Pa Elite Travel League. In addition, the Tigers play in 6 to 8 AAU tournaments throughout Western Pa, Ohio and West Virginia.
We feel we have a unique situation in Baldwin Whitehall. We are the first AAU program to support the kids from one school district only. In partnership with the GBWAA, the Tigers have teams at the 13 & 14 yr levels. These players support the local teams when they are not competing in the West Penn Elite league.
The Tiger coaches pick players that have excelled at the all star level in previous years. We are also interested in the player that may yet to develop physically but shows potential. The Tigers pride themselves in being a teaching organization. In addition, the GBWAA offers traditional West Penn Travel games as well as local Pony league games for players not competing at the Tiger level.
This is a new concept in local baseball. Players no longer have to go looking for AAU teams and leave their local association. We have the complete package right here in our community. The Tigers represented by President Casey Chrisman and Vice President George Tripson have worked with Sam Palermo, President of GBWAA and Vice President Ken Koslowski, to develop this unique program in the Baldwin Whitehall area.

Nick Nery Notes 02-11-08 Wednesday, February 13 @ 14:38:43 CST by gdtpgh (215 reads) | 11 Feb 08 - Second Youth Baseball Email Group
To: All Baseball Contacts
Greetings. I'm ready to quit compiling these youth baseball emails: can you blame me? Two weeks ago, I sent a request for an update to 105 local baseball association presidents and I got a whopping THIRTY back!! Is it asking too much that if you as a president don't want to bother reading your email, that you give me another contact who will? I've never asked anyone for one red cent for putting this info out: all that I asked was to be kept informed of the inevitable changes that happen. PLEASE RESPOND!!!
For those of you who still think that the contents of this email have some valuable to for both players and coaches alike, below is my second compilation of thirteen (13) youth baseball email groups. As usual, please copy or forward all if them to your baseball contacts, asking them to copy to theirs, etc, etc, and so on.
Thanks,
Nick Nery

Nick Nery Notes 4-2-07 Tuesday, April 03 @ 08:47:50 CDT by gdtpgh (357 reads) | 2 Apr 07 - 5th Youth Baseball Email Group
To: All Baseball Contacts
Greetings. Well, if ever there was a month that I easily could have skipped, it would have been March 2007! To you contributors, I'm sorry that I might have missed a couple of your deadlines, since we lost my dad, Carl Nery, on March 9th. The former two time All-American football player & Hall of Fame member from Duquesne University as well as a couple of years with "em Stillers" fought the good fight. I was coming out of surgery myself when I learned about his passing. I guess Julius Ceasar was right about those Ides of March.
Anywho here's my latest youth baseball email group. You should see 13 items. As usual, please pass it on to all of your contacts, asking them to pass it to theirs. Speaking of relatives, you might also enjoy this article below:
